The few coolant hoses I have replaced showed no signs of corrosion. My 355 came to me with Honda antifreeze in it. I will continue to use that. See attached document specifically discussing antifreeze formulas for Mercedes. Note this was written before G48 (blue) or G40 (pink) existed, but it's still accurate for using G05 in models through the mid-2000's or so. HOAT coolant is Orange and was used 2007? to 2012. The aftermarket replacement is ZEREX G05, which is yellow. When FCA commonized their coolants with FIAT, they adopted OAT, which is Purple. When vehicles started appearing with purple coolant, many dealers and repair facilities would replace, or top off OAT (purple) with HOAT (Orange).
